The Indian Hills Curbside Chipping Program underway for 2023, with chipping sessions in June and September. This program is open to ALL Indian Hills residents.

Sign-up for chipping is open August 1-31, with chipping to be done the week of September 10th.

You will receive an email about payment after signing up.  Payment must be received before the week of chipping.

MOST HOMES LOST TO FIRE HAPPEN BECAUSE FALLING EMBERS IGNI TE COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL ON THE HOME.  SIMPLE NO & LOW COST STEPS CAN GREATLY REDUCE YOUR HOME’S FIRE RISK.

1. Clean your roof, gutters, decks, and the perimeter of your home regularly of accumulated leaves, needles and other dead plant material.

2. Ensure all combustible materials are removed from underneath, on top of, or within five feet of a deck. This includes grills, combustible furniture, flammable chemicals and firewood. Keep your firewood at least 30 feet from your house.

3. Replace wood mulch products within five feet of all structures with noncombustible products such as dirt, stone or gravel.

4. Remove all dead or dying grass, plants, shrubs, trees, branches, leaves, weeds, and pine needles within 30 feet of all structures or to the property line .

5. Limit ground vegetation that is close to trees so that if they catch on fire, the fire will not spread to tree crowns. Ground vegetation should also not be close to your house or outbuildings .

6. Prune tree limbs to 6-10 feet from the ground.
